April 19 at 6:30pm we will have a Citrus Fair Bubble Parade on La Habra Blvd. Bring your bubble makers and join in the fun. Starts near 1/2 start at Euclid St and 1/2 at Cypress St on La Habra Blvd and we walk to the center of the Fair. Drum lines from local schools are invited. Its all in fun to celebrate the opening of the Fair. For more information and participation call the Chamber office.

Ninjas With Appetite is a new food truck that just came on the scene a couple of months ago. They serve all things teriyaki – beef and chicken bowls, tacos & wraps. Everything on the menu looks great! I picked up 2 chicken teriyaki bowls and tacos for a family dinner by the pool the other day. We all enjoyed it, especially the kids. Our kids are a little picky when it comes to food trucks. They seem to lean more towards Asian food for sure. Hmmm. I don’t know why. Oh yeah, their mom is Filipina. Haha!

There’s a new sushi food truck in town. Handa Rolla Masta! I had the pleasure of meeting owner and Chef Gregory Ong. He’s been a sushi chef for many years and was Head Chef at Leon Lounge prior to starting HRM. There were many different rolls on the menu. I tried just one item, and I’m already hooked! I had the crunchy shrimp hand roll. So delicious! The shrimp was fried just right, with the rice & veggies hugging each other in the bundle of soy paper. Just the right amount of spicy for a light kick. Perfect. I really should have tried more items. Looks like I’ll have to track them down for more next time! Great to meet you guys! Lots of sushi lovers here in the OC.. I’m sure you’ll be a big hit!

This week I tried the Tailgate Truck. Their menu included classic burgers, bacon wrapped hot dogs, homemade chili and grilled cheese with bacon. The truck was built perfect for a tailgate party! Speakers on the outside of the truck rockin’ the tunes & a flat screen with a game on make for an awesome tailgate truck!
My hubby Jim had the classic cheeseburger. He gave it a nod while eating. Our 9 year old Marissa enjoyed the grilled cheese with bacon. She wouldn’t share it with anyone. And I split the veggie burger with my mom. Everything was great! Fun truck with delish classic American food. Hope to see them again soon! #FoodTruckNoms
Oh one more thing… They have the BEST fries! Cooked perfectly & just the right amount of crunchiness. I’m not into fries too much, but these were dangerously good!

This week we enjoyed Chomp Chomp Nation. Everything on their menu is so delish. I love this truck because everyone in our family can enjoy Chomp Chomp. The kids go crazy over the Singapore Satay Skewers. It’s fun to eat chicken on a stick and the peanut sauce is perfect. It comes with rice cubes and Tiger Slaw. Jim tried the Surf N Turf Combo with Wagyu Kobe Beef and Tiger Shrimp. It’s a must have! It was my first time to try the Sloppy Joe Tater Tots (new item) and of course these were amazing as well. It was hard for me not to gobble all of these up they were so yummy. For dessert we had the Singapore S’More. What can I say? Happy tummies! #FoodTruckNoms

Not many posts last year. I hope to blog more about my favorite food trucks this year! My attention has been on so many other things the past few months and I really haven’t been foodtrucking as much as I’d like. I heard we have some awesome trucks coming to our community in Irvine. That will make it much easier for me to enjoy some noms! There’s also a stop off Sand Canyon every Tuesday for lunch with The Burnt Truck (my favorite) and a handful of other yummy trucks. You might see me there at least once a month! Stay tuned for some foodtrucking adventures… maybe my friend Suki will be able to eat with me!
